The Glass Cathedral for solo euphonium and electronics
The Glass Cathedral is a work for solo euphonium and electronics (or tape) intended to encapsulate the feeling of standing in a cathedral surrounded by stained glass. As a kid growing up in New Orleans, a very Catholic area, I found myself in huge churches and cathedrals, like the St. Louis Cathedral in the French Quarter, and I couldn’t help but be amazed by the beauty that went into the buildings, especially the stained glass and murals. This piece attempts to capture that feeling of awe.
