Kindling for percussion quartet
Kindling takes minimalist concepts and builds textures with different colors for the effect of a bright fire of burning embers. It begins with a slow burn and takes a curve upwards towards a middle groove section and eventually lands in loud raging fire then finally falls back down to ashes at the end. Written for percussion quartet, the piece uses a wide variety of mallet percussion instruments and drums while still remaining accessible for ensembles.
